Oracle Infrastructure

Curious why you opted for a quorum of signers rather than leveraging existing oracle infrastructure (e.g. ChainLink) for your cross-chain bridge?

Thanks for your great work!

Hi Kalouo,

The reason for opting for a Quorum of signers rather than leveraging existing Oracle infrastructure is based on a pragmatic choice to build the Wrap Protocol as a quick-to-implement, easy to use and understand, and with a reasonably low level of trust decentralization.

Given that Oracles require more dependencies from both the Ethereum and Tezos blockchains, a Quorum of signers is a more pragmatic solution. And the quorum also offers cheaper transaction costs to end users because it doesn’t have as many on-chain operations as an oracle.
I hope this helps.
